Required (Basic) Experience & Education: Minimum of a BS/BA degree in Food Microbiology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or related technical field. Minimum of 10 years sanitation management including at least 5 years of in plant sanitation management in facilities with extensive CIP cleaning for refrigerated perishable products. Progressive thinking, outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, effective change agent and team builder.
Required Competencies & Other Skills: Proficient in sanitation program management and metrics; State, FDA, USDA regulations; dairy CIP sanitation and microbiology, HACCP, GMPs, and quality systems. Proficient with the concepts of hazard analysis, risk assessments, sanitation, continuous improvement and system/process application. Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and team interaction skills. Highly motivated, self-directed and a self-starter. Demonstrated problem solving and corrective action execution skills. Quality systems and programs experience with a preventative focus. Ability to facilitate change and involve employees to continually improve plant operations. Demonstrated customer focus with clear understanding of measurements to assess customer acceptance. Solid conflict resolution skills. Unquestionable ethics and values. Well developed skills in managing and measuring. Proved results oriented track record. Good verbal interpersonal skills. Good written and presentation skills in order to improve organizational capabilities. Must be computer literate. Committment to get results through others.
Preferred Experience & Education: Experience in Dairy processing including, pasteurization, cheese making, butter production, evaporation and drying processing. Proficient in dry cleaning and moisture/water control and environmental monitoring strategies. Risk assessment and remediation process experience. Application of sanitary design programs through the use of 3-A sanitary standards or GMA sanitary design guideline. Experience in working with USDA - AMS (Dairy) Grading and Equipment programs. Grade A milk / PMO experience beneficial.
